Razer Mamba New Gaming Mouse with Wired Wireless Switching

Razer launched a new gaming mouse called Mamba and featuring the same design characteristics of the other black Razer Gaming Mice from the same line.

On the new gaming mouse’s official page is is explained why Razer didn’t adopt the wireless 2.4GHz technology as the primary connection option for its latest model introduced, stating that gamers are used with wired computer mice and that “wireless mice suck for gaming”. According to Razer, gamers will continue to avoid wireless mice because of the delay in responsiveness, a big disadvantage that could produce unexpected results especially during first-person-shooter gameplay.

As the wireless technology for computer mice is not enough improved over the traditional wired connectivity, a mouse model like Mamba would be the best choice of the moment for gamers and for productivity applications because it comes with a hybrid system that allows you to switch between wired and wireless capability instantly.

Specifications of the new gaming mouse include 1ms polling rate, on-board memory, ergonomic design, wireless/wired switching, and lag-free speed.

Free Microsoft Office on the Web

Microsoft is taking shots at Google by offering a free web-based version of its Microsoft Office software. The online software, Office 2010, are lightweight versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote. This is in an effort to compete against Google’s free online Docs suite that they launched several years ago. It’s been a game of tit for tat lately between these two corporate giants as last week, Google took a shot at Microsoft by announcing plans for a new free operating system. This is after Microsoft’s June introduction of their new search engine, Bing. Microsoft says that the new online Office suite will be offered to 400 million Windows Live users without any cost. Later this year, Microsoft will be releasing its web-apps to thousands of testers prior to the official Office 2010 release. The proper public beta will be released at the end of 2009 and the final version should make it to PC makers within the first half of 2010. This is Microsoft’s long awaited conversion into web based computing. Bing was a good first step and an online-based version of Office will be a giant second step. However, it is important to note that Microsoft’s move is in response to the rivalry that exists between them and Google, the other major tech giant.

Philips Bluetooth Webcam Concept

Fynn Product Design has come up with a stunning take on a futuristic, alien-like Bluetooth webcam concept that offers unpredecented flexibility where camera angles are concerned. This concept webcam comes with a ball and socket joint, connecting both base and body units for unparalleled viewing freedom. There is no word on resolution or any other specifications, but being Bluetooth-enabled surely means you will need to recharge it from time to time. I sure hope this thing comes with decent battery life then since it would be a bummer to hold a video conversation halfway only to get cut off after running out of juice unexpectedly.

HTC Dream G1, an Android-powered handset

The HTC Dream G1 is deemed as the first handset of T-Mobile which is to run the Google Android as the operating system. There has been a little confusion about its launch date, but now it seems to be confirmed on the Oct 13th. T-mobile is planning to take pre-orders from its online store, starting from the Oct 17th. Now, it’s got some leaked images which have been floating around the Internet. In the picture, the HTC Dream G1 handset seems to have a pretty unique design, which its bottom has a slight tilt and a trackball is found there too. But this adds extra length which tends to make it easily to poke out while it’s in the pocket. The picture attached here doesn’t show you its QWERTY. But in fact, it’s got a QWERTY. It’s a slider, which slides to the side to reveal its QWERTY. The keys on the QWERTY are neatly spaced, which lets your fingers easily type along. At the back of this phone, you can see the words “With Google”. Apparently, the handset is to make use of the big name of Google to get itself more popular. T-mobile will offer this handset with pre-order price $199 after the instant rebate, and you’ll be bound with a 2-year contract. You’ll also need a GMail account to setup the HTC G1 handset. Since it runs on Android, do expect that it comes bundled with tons of Google services. What are known now are those common ones such as maps with Street View, You Tube, IM and text, Gmail. Other goodies you can find on this handset are a 3 megapixel camera, video playback, music player, memory card slot and an application store. And it’s equipped with a huge touchscreen that is likely to rival the iPhone’s.

Medigenic Keyboard - The Medical Keyboard

Hospital acquired infections are a serious public health issue for patients, visitors and those employed in the industry. To that effect, hospitals have a number of protective measures in place to reduce the spread of person to person as well as object to person infections. A dirty keyboard is a common source of bacteria and viruses and many studies have shown that the amount of filth within the keyboard can equal that of a toilet seat. The Medigenic Keyboard tries to address this problem by redesigning the standard keyboard. This keyboard does away with the raised keys and as a result, the crevices between them in which food and other debris collect. In addition, the keyboard is easy to clean, requiring just a wipe down using hospital-grade disinfectants. To make it even simpler, the keyboard also comes with an indicator light that will notify you when the keyboard is ready to be cleaned again. In terms of typing speed, apparently, touch typists are able to easily transition to this flat keyboard and will see no change in their current typing speed. To make this transition even easier, this keyboard comes with faux 3D key graphics. The Medigenic keyboard retails for about $140

Sony Psp Go To Arrive In October

Before Sony had time to prepare and announce their new PSP concept at E3, details have already emerged concerning the new generation of portable console. The recent Sony PSP-3000, the third evolvement, looks set to be displaced by the new Go.The PSP Go is expected to hit stores in North America on 1st October, while Europe/Asia will welcome the product the following month. The retail price will be set at $249. The PSP-3000 will continue to be sold during this time, and consumer opinions will determine which portable gaming console should be continued. The PSP Go will not come with a UMD drive, but will include 16GB of internal memory which will support on-demand entertainment via the PlayStation Network. This all depends on download speeds and in some areas the speeds will be extremely slow, and render the console effectively useless to them. These areas may have to settle for the PSP-3000 for the time being. The PSP Go also exhibits an easy-slide panel, a 'game sleep' function which allows you to activate the XrossMediaBar while game-play is temporarily suspended. Bluetooth enabled technology and a whole host of accessories are also included with the PSP Go.What do you think of the new PSP Go? Will it be as successful as the DS Lite was for Nintendo?

Pill Shaped Mp3 Player

We all love small gadgets and we routinely see new product releases that try and quench our thirst for the smallest gadget. Portable MP3 players is one niche that has seen a significant reduction in size and the pill shaped MP3 player just continues the miniaturization process. From the picture, you can get a feel of just how small this device is, but if you want to get exact, it is 2.7 inches in length and 1 inch in diameter. In order to control the music player, you do need to pull on the two ends of the hard capsule while twisting it in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. At this time, the pill shaped MP3 player is a conceptual gadget, still in the prototype stage, but production is anticipated for later this year. I’m sure you’ll also be able to get them in a variety of colors such as red pills and blue bills, just be sure not to mix it up with any prescription medication you may have lying around the home.

Intel set to power Nokia with Mobile Chips

Intel Corp., the world’s largest producer of central processing units has joined hands with Nokia for supplying microprocessors for its mobile devices. Intel will supply Nokia Oyj with processors for mobile devices, as it seeks to enter into the expanding wireless and mobile markets, Bloomberg said, citing a person familiar with the matter. According to the reports, Intel will announce the deal at a conference call, the person told the news agency. The speculation is that Nokia will use a next-generation Atom chip in some kind of device, possibly even a mobile phone. It is highly likely that Intel will ship its code-named Moorestown and Medfield system-on-chip devices to the top phone maker. Made using 45nm fabrication process, Moorestown may power mobile Internet devices and communicators, whereas Medfield, which are to be made utilizing 32nm process technology, may find home inside Nokia’s smartphones due in 2011. With the Nokia deal, Intel now has two of the world’s top three mobile phone makers with plans to use its chips in mobile devices. LG said earlier this year that it would use Intel’s mobile chips in an upcoming MID. Intel and Nokia have not provided any official information for the report.

X-Ray Vision Camera Lens

For $199 you can pick up a special x-ray filter lens that attaches to a camcorder to give it x-ray vision capabilities. The theory behind the lens is that clothing that is worn allows for ambient light and infrared light to pass through until it reaches the skin. At that point, it is reflected back. Normally, we see is a combination of this light and infrared light. What the lens does is filter out the regular light so that all that remains is infrared light. It is this process that renders the clothing “virtually invisible” and allows the operator to see through clothing.
